To maintain a high standard of artistry and craftsmanship, Trainer-Con Dallas has specific requirements for 3D print vendors. Only vendors who elevate their prints beyond basic production will be approved.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, 3D print vendors must meet the following criteria:

1. Artistry & Craftsmanship Required

   • All prints must demonstrate a level of finishing that extends beyond raw 3D prints.

   • Acceptable enhancements include:

     • Hand-painting or airbrushing

     • Sanding and finishing for a polished look

     • Adding additional materials such as resin, wood, or metal to enhance the final product

     • Weathering effects, distressing, or artistic modifications

     • Customization or alterations beyond default 3D files (like creating and modeling your own files)
        

2. Originality & Creative Modifications

   • Vendors must present a portfolio showcasing their work.

   • Prints that are direct, unmodified copies of commonly available STL files without artistic enhancement will not be accepted.

   • Vendors should display a level of unique design, kitbashing, or artistic alterations that set their work apart from mass-produced prints.
      

3. No Mass-Production or Print Farms

   • Vendors mass-producing unmodified, unpainted, or basic prints will not be accepted.

   • Any vendor found selling large quantities of raw, unprocessed prints without significant artistic modifications will be removed from the event without a refund.

4. Application & Approval Process

   • All 3D print vendors must submit:

     • A portfolio or website showcasing their work

     • Examples of prints before and after finishing to demonstrate craftsmanship

     • A description of their creative process, materials used, and how they enhance their prints

   • The Trainer-Con Vendor Team will review each application and approve vendors based on quality and originality.
      

5. Display & Presentation Requirements

   • All approved 3D print vendors must display their work professionally.

   • Unpainted or unprocessed prints should not take up more than 20% of table space.
      

6. Enforcement & Removal

   • Vendors found violating these guidelines by selling mass-produced, unmodified prints will be asked to remove those items.

   • Continued violations will result in immediate removal from the event without a refund and possible future bans from Trainer-Con Dallas events.

Trainer-Con Dallas welcomes true artisans who take 3D printing to the next level. These regulations are in place to ensure a high-quality marketplace where creativity thrives.
